Fall 2019 Issue Cover Art
My primary creative outlet is poetry, and I use visual art to unwind. Because I consider it a soothing practice, fiber art gives me an opportunity to explore more whimsical elements of my artistic expression. This batik piece comes from a period of time I was entirely wrapped up in how citrus fruit looks, smells, feels. It’s my ode to a grove of orange trees I remember with particular fondness in the Alentejo region of Portugal.
